Will Donating a Dollar a Week Make a Difference?

Posted on September 5, 2006November 30, 2019 by Roger Carr

If you only have a dollar a week to donate to a charity, will it make a difference? Will you be making the world a better place?

One donated dollar may seem insignificant when compared to the funds donated by Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. However, your donated dollar is important and can help change the world. Instead of one person donating a significant amount of money, many people can combine their own smaller donations and have the same impact.

Carol Kirshner has started a grassroots effort to encourage people to give back at least one dollar per week. Her blog called Dollar Philanthropy is even featuring non-profit organizations that you can consider in your giving efforts.

If you can afford to give significantly to benefit others, that is great. If you can only afford to give one dollar a week, that is just as great. What is important is that you are giving unselfishly to make the world better. Start giving today.
