Happy Birthday to Ask Without Fear!

Posted on April 30, 2011November 30, 2019 by Roger Carr

Birthday cakeMarc Pitman is a terrific resource of fundraising tips and resources. I have learned much from him over the past few years.

His book, Ask Without Fear!, just turned 3-years old. It is a book I have read multiple times and purchased for myself and other fundraisers to learn from.

Marc makes it clear in his book that passion is a critical element in succesful fundraising.

"…the integrity in being yourself, linked with your passion, will be the most effective way to raise lots of money for your favorite cause."

He also demonstrates that fundraising is all about the relationship with potential donors. It is about seeing fundraising from their perspective (not yours).

"…remember that not everyone is like you. Your organization isn't the most important thing in their world."

These are just a couple of proven insights Marc shares. There are many, many other tips and resources waiting for you.

Ask Without Fear! is perfect for the new fundraiser or the more experienced fundraiser who wants to get back to the basics. Do you want to learn more about Marc Pitman's fundraising resources?

Roger Carr

You are right that it is all about relationships. Fundraising can work great, but you have to show that it is all about THEM and not you. My dad was a fundraiser for many years, and I saw him work with hundreds of schools and churches to help them raise money for various causes. http://www.samaritanfundraising.com/
