Auctions hold a great purpose in today's society. They offer items of interest and value that were once precious to someone else available to new buyers for various reasons and purposes. Hosting an auction can be done for a number of occasions, and charity auctions stand a head above the rest. At an auction, it is expected that various treasures will be shown, marked with display stands, for the auction goers to view, value, and bid on. Properly showcasing the items up for auction will convey the personal and sentimental aspect that some items have.
A Charity Auction is held as a means of not only dispersing passed loved items onto their new owners, but also as a means of collecting contributions for the charity in which the host feels strongly to sponsor. This desire for sponsorship may be present for any number of reasons, including a strong personal connection with the charity or a connection with the charity through a loved one’s experience with it. Whatever the case, a charity auction needs to display something that any other auction would be able to overlook - a deep sense of purpose.
Purpose plays such an important role in the charity auction and should be displayed accordingly. Auction items should be easy to view and should be arranged in a sort of chronological order with like items. Those arranging the event should take into consideration the type of item, size and value. Everything should be clean and in working order, with ease of accessibility for pre-auction viewing. Something else to consider is what exactly to do with the displays.
One may want to dress up their display stands with banners, table cloths, ribbons, flowers and various other arrangements that will attract attention. One must also be sure to incorporate the purpose of their auction, which is their designated charity, to re-affirm the importance of the auction and the function that the donations made by purchasing the auction items will serve. Use flyers, pamphlets and collages to inform auction goers of the benefits to charity that will take place if they choose to purchase said auction items.
Another thing to be careful of is positioning of displays. One does not want them to be flimsy or easy to upset as an entire auction can quickly fizzle out if it appears poorly prepared or arranged. Do not spare any time or dedication when it comes to a charity auction. If one follows these guidelines, they can expect to see great results.
